Angry FFS What now!!!!!!!!

Ok,Got the car back friday with a binding brake caliper. Had another set yesterday so decided to swap the binding one over today. All went fine, all bolts came off no problem Put the new one on and commenced bleeding them. Now the problems start, all the air out of the system and filled the brake fluid back up to level. BUT Now the pedal is soft,if i pump it it comes to pressure but within seconds the pressure goes again.

Any ideas? Seriously Pi$$ed off And sounds like my exhaust is blowing somewhere

Have you bled all the calipers in turn? You would need to bleed every caliper and not just the one you have changed, it sounds like you still have air in the system.

Have you put the calipers on the right side ? bleed nipple at the highest point , if you put them on the wrong side the bleed nipple will be at the lowest point and won't bleed properly
If your stuck give me a ring
Cheers Ian

Only changed 1 of the front ones Ian. Will have another go in the morning and give you a ring if im stuck.
If there was a leak i should see some fluid somewhere shouldnt i? Was fine before i changed the caliper.
They are 2pot fronts by the way.

Have you put the right side caliper onto your car , did you get a pair of calipers or just one to replace the faulty one , if you had a pair , check you have put the correct one on so the bleed nipple is at the top , otherwise you will never get the air out.

Yes you would see a fluid if there was a leak as the pressure is so high in the system

Cheers Ian

did you bleed brakes but start with rear passenger side first then driver side rear then passenger front then driver side front ? this seems to work thats if your caliper is on the right way up lol also are you bleeding it the right way ?

Grrr - well I know the calipers are fine lol !!! - does sound like air in the system somewhere - I've tried bleeding brakes loads of times, and never got it to work properly, always get my local garage to do it, so think its a bit of a black art.

Couple of things, you should need to top up the brake fluid quite a bit as I drained the fluid out of the calipers before you got them - also prob worth swapping the pads on the other old caliper as well so you have matching pads at the front as the red stuffs can take a while to heat up, so would be safer. ( or put your old pads in the new caliper )
