Default Simtek Issue's

Right, not sure if anyone can help but since i've had my simtek fitted the car overheats quite quickly once i give it a bit of stick and the Defi's oil temp gauge goes over 105degree's pretty quick

Any idea's what can cause this ?

Also, i tried to use the launch control the other night and previously i had to take the car to 4600rpm - now when it's switched on the car wont rev past 4000rpm to launch

doesn't sound related..

How long ago fitted? Who fitted/mapped?

Work done prior??

the ecu has no relevance on your overheating issue nor oil temp issue.......

The Simtek was fitted by APi
The only reason i thought they might be related is because it never done it before the Sim was fitted

Also, should i have had my old ECU back ?

We normally leave the old ecu board inside the car in the wrapping that comes from Simtek. If not, then we can send it on to you. It has no value to us. I seem to recall that we were on a late job with your car and it probably got left in the rush to get you away.

The overheating of the engine and oil are, quite correctly, not related to the remapping. It is possible that something has gone adrift in the engine in the recent hot spell.

The programme for the launch control should not vary. Once programmed it should be set in stone. l guess that something else may be going on.

Seek help from a specialist about the temperature problems as soon as possible in case you are harming the engine.

Thanks David - yeah it was a bit of a late one
The Launch control has worked fine but for some reason the other day it just wouldnt let me rev up to the 4600rpm required, soon as i turn it off it was fine

The car is booked in the garage for Wednesday for all coolants to be checked and to check the rad to make sure its ok
