Car won't start
Got a new battery a month ago, the old one was original and totally died.
New battery flat this morning and not charging.
Could it be alternator or something else?
03 plate WRX.

Newage cars have an "intelligent" alternator. You need to drive round with your lights on to get it to charge properly.
You've probably drained the charge that was in the new battery.
OR
Your alarm/immobiliser/stereo etc is drawing a current when the ignition is off.

Thanks Blue Dragoon. Got the AA over saidfor me to do just that, drive around with my sides on. On idle the Alt read 12.5v but with sides on 14.4v..he found no drain on the vehicle and suggested I give Dave Coe a ring for his opinion.
