Default Cold Air Feed Through Fog Lamp Cover

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can order a cold air feed kit which will take it's feed through the o/s front fog lamp cover. I want it to feed cold air up to a RCM induction cone which I now have.

I have found a couple of universal kits on eBay but I would rather source one which fits the contours of the fog lamp cover properly or I could even source a fog lamp surround as fitted to a WRX.

I think that Zero Sports may do them but I cannot find them online.

I think he bought the intake collar and then just mounted it into the fog lamp surround, he then ran some convoluted pipe up towards the induction cone.

I think it is easy enough on a Hawkeye as the fog lamp hole is quite small but the Bugeye lamp is a lot bigger.

I don't know of any made to fit for the job I think most mod em on, you could get the cone part fibreglassed on and molded into shape or maybe experiment gently hammering the cone part into shape ? check the gallery out with the "search" function there have been threads from time to time on this subject Ty.

Cheers Simon have had a quick look through and have found that ETS Racing do a fog lamp cover with a built in air intake duct as per link below, has anyone here used ETS?

We all appear to be singing from the same hymn sheet here

I like the Revotec kits they are well made at a reasonable price, I've seen quite a few used as CAK in fog light covers and they do look good

Hi Tyron - do you know whats involved with fitting such a kit, I assume the removal of the inner wing air box thingy and do you know the maximum diameter of trunking that will then go up from the fog cover to the filter

If for instance your cars been mapped, will the addition of the cold air feed make any difference or is it something you will get tuned in with Bob Is it worth me doing it now, or should I have done it before my map

You ordered the 89mm one, so I guess thats the correct size for us Bug's

No I will leave the existing air filter trunking in place, there is no need to remove it. I will run the new pipe from the fog lamp cover and have it coming up just beside the induction cone.

That way it will have 2 air feeds, i'm going to fit it before the next map with the turbo, fpr etc. There should be no need a remap for you Simon as you are not changing the filter only giving it a better air feed, remember the air filter size will not change.

Sounds like a good job then Ty - two air feeds are better that 1 Think I'll plan on this in a couple of weeks

Is that the largest diameter (89mm) trunk and cone that will fit the Fog cover Ty

if your car is mapped and you put a good air feed to the fillter after then yes it will effect the way your car runs so i would do it before a map if i was you as i know when i fitted my fog duct 31/2 inch my car would not run tidy but soon as i blocked it up with a rag it was fine

if it's done right it will make a difference check out my thread on the project section and i have pic's of what i done on there

https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...e-machine.html

i used ets racing and found them very good with good products

I just had a quick look at the website I could have gone for a 4" size but I didn't want to go too large so I settled on the 3.5" size.

You can get a pipercross kit from Halfords for £25. It contains 2 trumpets and enough piping for two kits. So i fit one and sold the rest for about £15. So £10 for a cold air feed. Perfect! That was for an APS inner wing filter though. There should be enough piping to reach the bay.

I heard too large of a cold air feed would blow out the inner wing.

I'll have a look for a used cover in black, trouble is I'll have to make sure it's the black/blue mica.

Thought so but it is nice that Mr Rawle confirmed it.

Looks like I have sorted out a new set of fog lamp covers, just need to get them prepped and painted now where is Jarvis when you need him?
