For filters I buy a few original Subaru oil filters at a time from Import Car Parts.
Genuine Subaru Impreza Oil Filter & Sump Washer
They seem to have gone up in price since my last purchase though
For oil I normally use Silkolene 10w50 which I buy from Opie Oils.
The "what oil" debate has been discussed many times and I'm sure someone else will pitch in with some wisdom

Hi - I used Mobil "Super S" the last oil change 10W 40 Semi Synth, it was on a tidy offer in halfords, as for the Filter I had mine from Scooby parts, with free Sump plug washer - next filter I'll get, is the K&N one with the socket on the end so you can screw it off, my old one was a bugger to get off, as not much room to work - always get a new washer though Mate................Si

Just don't overtighten the filter.
Oil on the seal, start it on the threads, give it a spin, let it stop, then about half a turn. Only hand tight, don't use the muscles in your arm.
It will seal, and it will be easy to get off in the future.
(Overtightening is likely to rupture the rubber seal)
