I was going to suggest this on the other post, get it built up by someone that does them everyday and then you can bolt everything on and stick it in yourself.

Another one to try is API, A few of us have theres done there

not sure, but just stripped it, big end bearing on rod by turbo and center thrust bearing gone, when turned crank with block split center thrust bearing was spinning with crank

Did the block require much machining apart from work carried out on the liners? As the EJ22t block I used required both inner casings milled .004 as my centre thrust bearing clearances were out and slightly eccentric. Luckily both deck faces didn't require milling but I ended up with deck protrusion of 16 thou instead of 12 thou so I had to use a bigger head gasket than I originally wanted as my compression ratio is slighly low. In total I paid £500 alone in engine machine work to make my block usable.

For £1500 you can purchase a brand new fully blue printed Sti Spec C short block with nitride coated crank and factory bearing clearances. If I was to ever build another Subaru engine I purchase one of these as they can cope with 450 bhp if mapped correctly.

What were your original bearing clearances and was there any signs of end float when intially running the engine in?
