I can't understand why the registration date in this country makes such a difference , I am paying £405 on the S202 and yet I see smokey old pieces of cr@p on the road all the time paying a lot less than me.
The registration date should have nothing to do with the tax band which are dependant upon exhaust emission levels, I know it seems mean but why aren't all Imprezas in the same banding?
I pay the same on the S202 that I would pay upon a Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc etc and it really p1$$es me off.

I'm not totally 100% on this but I understand that later in the year imports are being fixed at around the £200 a year might be worth checking out the DVLA website.
My renewal came to-day £190, dont get me wrong I'm pleased that its not £400 but £190 is still a lot on top of all the other motoring taxes we all pay.
Si and I were both looking at a 66 Mustang fastback just before Christmas £0 road tax for V8 power with no cats, co2 is probably a zillion grams per mile, now thats a bargain
