A lot more work than I'd imagined to be honest and the biggest pain is swapping the old fuel pipes as they are stuck fast!

TIP, used a cup of boiling water to soak the new petrol pipe and make them more flexible to fit onto the new (well 2nd hand 2003 STI fuel rail).

I'm taking the opportunity to take off my forge DV and add an STI TMIC, undertray and scoop at the same time.

There are a few bugs in Wales so wondering if anyone else here has had a go at this and what they thought of the job?

Good effort there Dean During the cold snap, on about 2 day's I had fuel smell in the car, Dylan found that badly cracked pipe, off the filter, other than that Mate nothing done

My pipework was fine but some of the inaccessable clamps were very loose! Such a lot of work just to swap some fuel pipe and tighten some clamps . Hopefully get it all back together for the weekend .

I honestly don't know Tyron. All I would say is that if your car doesn't smell of petrol on very cold mornings then there's no problem. My car was smelling of petrol regularly (fumes coming in through vents into cabin etc) so I knew there was a problem somewhere. It's possible that your car is fine or may have been modified prior to your ownership.

Reading some other posts on the subject, Subaru UK did not issue a recall on this problem. My car's fuel pipework is if a different design to that on the 2003+ year cars so I'm glad I'm getting it sorted just of peace of mind.
