Decat or NOT
Hi All - My next plans include a Decat of the downpipe I
Any feedback to help my will be greatly appreciated
2 options I think:- TSL 100 cell Sport cat or one of the commercially available "Non Cat" D/P's.
I have sourced an RCM I/K so I'm on the way, so to speak once the bits are sorced/fitted I am then planning a map of some sort
Uprated Fuel pump is on the horizon
But help with the D/P for now thanks

Japspeed do a 100 cell sportcat in the groupbuys section for £175 delivered, or you can do what I did. Prodrive sportcat £125 off the sales section, prodrive second cat delete pipe £25 off here a while ago, de-resonated section £10 (with the sportcat) and just bought a Japspeed catless up-pipe(brand spankers) off ebay for £23.01. Just need some gaskets to get the whole thing fitted, then a remap before Xmas (wont be able to get that on the cheap, unfortunately, unless someone knows something I dont)
The sportcats are meant to lose only a couple of horses over the catless and have the bonus of no issues come MOT time.

Downpipe with a 100 cell sports cat, there is not a great deal of difference between a 100 cell sports cat and a decat in terms of performance.
But you could fail an MOT shortly even if you meet the emissions test with a decat (which I doubt) so you are better off going for a sports cat downpipe.

Decat sounds slightly louder than sports cat, plus it's easier to get big bhp from it later on!! I was more than happy when I went from the Prodrive Sports CAT to decat!!

Simon, have a look at this PDF document it explains it in more detail but perhaps your car might not be applicable to the legislation as it is a JDM import.
