Rear Diff Gasket
Guys,
Well I eventually got round to removing my rear diff today to sort out the problem of the clunking in the diff.
When the oil was removed from the diff, I found a small piece of metal about 6mm long 1mm dia. After further investigation, it appears the circlip had come away from the driveshaft and decided to break down and drop into the diff.
Tomorrow, I'll start removing the back plate of the diff to get access to the main differential to inspect if there is anymore damage.
MY question is would anyone by anychance have the cd with all the part No.s for the gaskets and seals on the rear diff for a MY96 V2 STI 3.9 rear diff.
I know if I ring CVC or Keith Price I might be asked for a VIN No. and once I say to them I have an Import they might not be so helpful.
Any help would be grateful.
Cheers
Matt

don't think the diff has a gasket and you use 3 bond or dercose sealant to seal it don't take my word for it tho but almost sure no gasket and the seals for the rear diff are all the same on classics, i use cotton competition for all my parts for gearbox/ diff and are top guys and know their stuff

Cheers Guys, I have some of the 3 bond left over from the oil pump change, so thats good.
I'll give all the others a ring tomorrow about the seal's to see what they can provide.

Well after ringing around afew companies today, I eventually struck gold with Keith Price's. I had to supply my Vin No. for them to contact Subaru UK and retrieve the correct part No for the seal's as there are 2 different sizes apparently.
Anyway, hopefully the car will be back on the road by next week if I haven't found anymore damage.
