Cool Group buy:- Grooved discs and EBC Yellow Stuff pads!

Hi all,

As some may know, i am about to replace my discs and pads and since i was on the phone i decided to try to get a deal done for us. I have managed to get some great deals based on 10 of us being in on a group buy. So far there are 2 in so only 8 places need filling.

The group buy is for a set of CRN discs front and back with 40 grooves each and EBC Yellow stuff race/road pads. Below is some more info and some prices to get us started, but if there are any special requirements let me know and i will make some phonecalls to see what kind of deal i can get.

Yellowstuff Brake Pads 4000 "R" Series

Prices:

2001-04 Sti 350 pounds delivered
2005-08 Sti 370 pounds delivered
2001-on WRX 255 pounds delivered
Classic will be around 240 pounds but still waiting on confirmation

Bearing in mind that the pads alone are anywhere between 150 and 200 pounds, these prices are pretty good. Also you can opt for less grooves or for drilled and grooved, but i will have to check if this affects cost for you.

Other cars can be included in the group buy, just let me know what you need

Ian

UPDATE!! NOW AVAILABLE ARE MINTEX M1144 C-TECH PADS ALSO, JUST WAITING ON COST, BUT SHOULDNT BE ANY MORE THAN EBC PADS!!!!

I will check out the price for just discs, but the same 2001-on Sti discs with Mintex pads would be £240 before discount so i would have thought it could be less than £200 without pads. Its the Yellow stuff pads that really push the price up, buut they do have some serious stopping power by all acounts!! The classics are cheaper again with Mintex pads.

Dont think there will be any price difference for drilled and grooved as far as i am aware, so it should be the same as above, i will double check as soon as i can though, but i am going away tonight and wont have internet access. One of my mates may be monitoring though, so he may be able to answer questions in the mean time

You might have more luck running a GB with different make pads, Ferrodo or Padig are popular, EBC get really poor reviews on here, i've used red stuff pads and they were useless when cold, would imagine yellow stuff would be even worse as they are the track day pads and they r supposed to wear out very quickly.

I'm running the yellows in my K sports, They are pretty good, much better than the ones from K sport as standard. They work well from cold, give off little dust and were very impressive on track.

bought the yellow stuff and grooved discs from the same seller about 1-2 months ago and they are spot!!! No brake fade and great breaking from cold!! Quick delivery as well - the only thing I wish Id done was get theme coated as they rust quite easily.

Cheers

I was thinking about zinc coating, they do a couple of different colours but as the discs wear it very soon rubs off so wasnt going to bother, dont know what to do???

Yes but the bits that wear down stay shiney anyway but as for the rest thats not in contact with the pads they soon rust. They still look good though but looked even better when I first put them on.

Ok!
I have spoken to my contact and given our requirements and he is ready to take orders, he said he will get them produced straight away once orders are in as we have been waiting. I have asked him to put together costs for sets with mintex and EBC pads so that you have a choice and i have also got him to include zinc coating at an extra cost of £15 for 4 discs or £7.50 for 2 if you want it. He is re-calculating costs as he thinks he may be able to get them a little cheaper again for us

To place your orders you can call 01246 55 99 33 and ask for Olly. To get the discounted price tell him you are calling about the Impreza group buy and give him my name, Ian. Confirm your requirements with him and that should be that

If you place orders please let me know and if there are any issues post it up and i will get on it for you.
