Castle Coombe raceday 4th May
This is what I received from Castle coombe this morning regarding the race event thats on Bank Holiday monday.
Husqvarna Springtime Race Day 4th May
So now it’s officially Spring and we look forward to this Monday’s race meeting. With even more entries than Easter Monday’s excellent day we are in for a real treat. In the Saloons we have Gary Preble back in his Mitsubishi and if the other Evo drivers can find the reliability to match that of Barry Squibb’s and Brian *** we will enjoy an exciting race.
In a Formula Ford’s, Round 1 winner Ben Norton will be the man to beat, but ex champions Ed Moore and Matt Rivett will be battling hard, also on the grid are a host of other drivers who could well be fighting for an overall podium place including Steven Jensen, Andrew Jones who was in pole last time plus Roger Orgee, Bob Higgins, Rob Hall and Nelson Rowe.
The Special GT’s should have seen the return of Guy Woodward in his Jade but engine problems have ruled him out at the last moment, so it should be a Radical benefit.
With packed grids our three championships take some beating, but the production BMW’s, LMA Saloons and Mazda’s will also feature bulging grids.
It is also a welcome back to our own Open Sports and Saloon race in this writers opinion the race of the year last season with Mark Furnell, who, in that race, came from the back of the grid to a podium position, starting favourite.
Qualifying gets underway at 08.40 with racing from 12.45. Admission is just £15.00 for an adult, half price for OAP’s and under 16’s admitted free. With good weather forecast we are looking forward to a great race meeting so come and join us.
