Gearbox Options ???
My gearbox has just decided to go BANG whilst i was coming on to the M4
I can use every gear apart from 2nd - amazed its lasted this long to be honest
What options are there ?
Standard aint gonna be strong enough

I've been weighing up the options for this. My gearbox is a little notchy and won't last forever. I'm leaning towards a PPG gearbox with helical cut 1-4th gears and a standard, possibly P1, 5th.

6 Speed is pretty much bullet proof, well so is the PPG with upto around 450bhp, alot of folks say they struggle after that. So if you,re not at this power, or are thinking of going beyond i,d go 6 speed...pretty much same cost too..

I've been offered a 6speed from a 2008STi with all the diffs to do the conversion but i just dont have the money at the moment as i've just bought another house

and would need rear brakes and wheels then as it's not as straight forward as its sounds depending on code and year of box
