Make my daughter and her mates day...evening meet 5th June (north wales/chester)
To anyone who wants a meet
I know its a bit early but i am not sure if you would be interested??
5th June
my daughter has her college prom and she was wondering if i could get around 12-15 scoobs for a convoy. Pick-up from Deeside College and drop off at the Ramada Hotel Christleton rd. 2-3 passengers per car and a case of beer for each driver.
i thought this would be a far better 'entrance' than arriving in stooopid limo's
what do ya think???
i will confirm date and times if i get enough interest
cheers steve
DATE CONFIRMED Friday 5th June - times yet to be confirmed (early evening 6.30ish)
NBO Style 'List'

One word Steve: Insurance.
I thought of doing this with the club ages ago, but the big thing that will stop you in your tracks is having insurance to cover the fact that you are using your car as a private hire taxi. If you're not covered, and god forbid something happened, the passengers could sue you to high heaven
I'd look into the legality of this very carefully mate, but good luck with it if you can pull it off

if the girls didnt pay then there is no come backs on insurance,
its just like your taking a mates mate down the shops so to speak.
limo operators use a loop hole in the law which allows them to run without being taxi or psv registered.
they hire the car under "self drive" then THEY find a self employed driver to drive them
i would rather my daughter travel in a convoy of scooby driving sensible than a one off limo with 4-5 jobs that hes rushing around to fit in

rewording then - 'can anyone give my daughter and her mates a lift'? the beer is a gift and should not be seen as payment for services in any way.
another thing if you give someone a lift to the airport for example you can accept money to cover the cost of fuel but no more, you cannot make a profit.

If you get enough interest then count me in. It's worth the drive up the A483. This would obviously NOT be for hire or reward.
If you want to bring the noise then try and rope in Bonzee and Mervil, both their cars sound sweet.
Rich.

It's not that far really, I done as many miles in the xmas brecon run. It's just that this is straight up and back down again. Looking forward to the drive back as there will be little on the road, although I'm toying with the idea of staying in a B&B on Friday and calling in Demon Tweeks on the Saturday morning.
Steve, have you posted in the English Section to see if any lads will cross the border?

As long as I'm not working that night or early morning I'll come if there's a good turnout. I'm in Wrexham so not a million miles and I'd love a chance for a meet up with like minded folk!
Will there be a meet up point after the drop off for general chat etc?

Sorry Steve,
I thought it would be good to see how many were committed to going from South Wales, it may entice others to join in. I'm looking forward to it myself and it's always nice to give something back to the scoobynet community!
