Roads around Bala...
Hi Guys, I'm off to bala on friday with the Mrs, staying in a cottage next to the lake. Two things:
1) Are there any good routes around there for a blast in the countryside? I went to Snowdonia 8 yrs ago (and loved it) and remember some good driving around there but can't remember where the roads were!
2) What are the best/most picturesque places to visit? I figured swallow falls, Snowdon etc. Are there any hidden gems? My wife is a keen photographer so we'd like to see some 'landscapes'.
Any help is appreciated people, Cheers,
...Mike

Bala to Llanfyllin (on the B4391) is an amazing route... Also if you head to Dolgellau (on the A494) then up the A490 towards Dinas Mawddwy but then turn off right down the A487 towards Corris, this is a beautiful route... The B4405 before Corris (off the A487) heading towards Tywyn is a brillant drive with some very scenic lakes and nice food at the Tal Y Llyn Hotel...
Hope that helps fella, this is my work area but I love taking the Scooby out in these parts...

Thanks Richy- just the info I was after. Some beautiful surroundings out your way, made even better if you're covering the miles in a 22B...jammy sod!
We're gonna try to cover the scenic routes and take in all the great places nearby, only there for 4 days. The weather doesn't look too clever for the weekend, lets hope Wales does us proud! Thanks again.
