Custom Number Plates
As the thread suggests Im looking for advice / help
Bought a private plate for my son, have the DVLA paperwork but its not registered to a vehicle yet.
My question is how can I get a plate made up to be able to give it as a present by next Friday ?
Tried the online sites and they let you go through the whole order process right up to Buy then they hit you with a disclaimer saying the plate will not have any Numbers or letters....They will be given to you as Stickers to DIY.
Im in Bridgend
All Help greatfully recieved

Hi, as somebody is involved in the motor trade just make sure that if you have bought a personalised plate that you make sure that the spacing of the digits is legal.
Most motor factors / retailers will make sure that if they supply a plate that it is legally spaced, with a BS number and the post code the of the company that assembled the number plate.
Internet sites such as showplates will sell you a number plate but will allow you to space the letters as you like in order to resemble a name or similar but this be like a red rag to a bull as far as the Police are concerned. Also a lot of people try putting a number plate bolt in certain places to make a 8 look like an O being an example, but again this will prove a reason to pull a car over.
It is also worth remembering that vehicles can now fail their yearly VOSA test over number plates and that under exceptional circumstances the DVLA can in fact take the plate back from you as you only buy the right to use the registration number and never actually own the number.
Hope you can get a plate made up in time.

Hello, I got a personnal plate on my car and yesterday I was stopped by the police because they say it is illegal! He gave my a 14 day slip and told me to get it done asap. He also reported me to the DVLA for miss use of the number plate and if i'm caught again and reported a second time then the DVLA can take the number plate off me and sell it on! So I wouldn't order it off the net because if you read the small print it says for show use only!
