I have recently acquired a rover 25 as a second car. Unfortunately one of the 12-spoke alloy wheels has a very nasty three inch gouge on the lip adjacent to one of the spokes. I guess it could be repairable but what I would like to know is approximate price* including relacquering, etc. I inquired at a breakers and they have these available 2nd hand at about the £70 mark so would it be more economical to go down the repair route?

Well I've had a quote to refurb my 17" Alloys for £50 a wheel at Afan Tyres in Port Talbot (http://www.afan-tyres.co.uk/). Some chap on Pistonheads was happy with the job they did on his speedlines.

If your Rover wheel needs welding, then you may as well go for the one in stock at the breakers, providing it's in clean condition.

There is a alloy wheel refurb company down coed cae lane,(talbot green) i have heard good things about them, and very reasonably priced.

theres a place in caerphilly, paid £25 per wheel with no damage to repair just paint. don't know how good of a colour match you'd end up with though.
