how to get 280-300 bhp on MY00 uk ?
hi all,
I have a subaru impreza uk turbo 2000 PPP(w reg), it has the prodrive performance pack, 3 inch exhaust system by prospeed.
what other mods would you suggest for me to get to reach around 300bhp?
i was thinking- walbro uprated fuel pump 255lph,a panel filter or induction kit, and a remap at powerstation?
also as the car stands with its current mods and with the PPP, what power would it be roughly?
any help will be much appreciated.
cheers

Without the VF28 your looking at around 275 with your TDO4.

As said, you need to ditch the standard turbo, these run out of puff around the 270-280BHP mark, Any of the VF range of turbo's will see you above 320BHP and TD05 will see you pushing a little higher but they are lightly slower to come on boost.
I have a VF28 on mine and once mapped it was just as quick at spooling as the TD04 that comes as standard but with so much more grunt. The UK turbos should of come the VF28 as standard.
You don't really need to change the fuel pump unless you really want too. I'm running standard pump, injectors and fuel pressure reg and I'm seeing 320-330BHP and have done so for the last 30K, My car is currently on 115K and still won't die.

The Turbo can cost anything from £125(Thats what I paid ofr mine off ebay) up to around £300
It's the mapping that will get the most out of the mods. Bob is well worth going to see as is Andy F JGM or Pat Herbourn(Spelling)

Worth replacing the panel filter with something like a green cotton/K&N or an STI one, These only cost around £30 and well worth doing.

02 STI's didn't come with VF28's though, thye came on P1's and STI 5's. 02 STI's come with a VF30 unless its a type RA as these came with a VF34.
Blobeye STI's on came with a VF35 which is a good turbo, more commonly available than the VF34 so normally cheaper and the fastest spooling of the VF series.

The VF series is a direct replacement!! I had a VF34 on my old classic which I paid 450 for brand new and made one hell of a difference!! TD05's are stronger but as said above are slightly laggier (a word?) than the VF's
