my bottom end has gone
cant believe it that my bottom end has gone tonight, went to go for a run with the team osaka boys, and before i even got to the meet for the run the bottom end went on the car.. and is knocking very loud
dont know which way too go with it at the moment, and which would be the best route to go
any help or advice on what route to take, as im a little dazed at the moment
car will probably be off the road for a while as some people know kerri is pregnant, and i have no money at the moment to spend on the car, so it will probably be off the road for at least a year
look forward to hearing your suggestions on which way too go, and hopefully i will try and attend the meets obviously not in the scoob...
see you all soon

Feel sorry for you Lee. Only had mine back today after having another bottom end put on. £1500 later the car is back in one piece. On the brighter side i can see a powerful 2.5 conversion on the horizon Hopefully see you soon

Aw never...totally gutted for you Lee, last thing you need right now mate! I know how you feel, i was totally gutted when it happened to me. Wish i had taken the car off the road for a bit and had time to think about the route i'd go. If i had to do it all again no doubts about the route i'd go. 2.5 forged bottom end, so you can safely run high boost and either the 20g turbo you have already, as it really flies on Jarvys car with little or no lag, or if you fancied changing the turbo i'd go for the MD321. I was thinking about what i'd do if this happened again and was considering the 2.3 stroker kit route but it works out more expensive than the 2.5. If the 2.5 and 20g combination flies in Jarvys car it should have no problem powering our lightweight classics around. Just take your time buddy and think long and hard before you make your mind up. I know you well enough to know she'll be back bigger and better than ever....can't keep a good man down

Most probably small end conrod bearings are worn or maybe rod bolts. ACL bearings are only 110 pounds so these plus steel head gaskets and new ARP head bolts and rod bolts your only looking at 350 pounds in total. Probably only take a weekend to carry out the complete job yourself. I know a cheap supplier who can supply all the parts.

Sorry to hear this but you were pushing the limits.
I'd be looking at these guys in the states before buying off flat four,
Subaru Built Motors / Race Engines
This is where Dean got his set up from and he didn't pay the earth for it

It would be easier to fix the problem with the car and purchase all the parts for your new project as and when you can afford them etc, with the car running. Best of both worlds.

Really sorry for you Lee mate! Personally, i would just get it fixed to start with rather than going down the expensive 2.5 road. The car is well sorted at the moment and a real beast, when working of course, and a repair will be far quicker. She could be back on the road in no time with luck.
See you soon mate and sorry again
