Default 18" wheels on a classic

Has anyone fitted 18" wheels on a classic.
If so, what tyres & what wheels.
Do they fit without rubbing & without Rolling the arches?

I'm thinking about a set on MY99 STI RA but think they will rub.

My old 18's if I remember correctly were 7.5PCD with a tyre size of 215x45x18

Never rubbed on MY99 RB5.

From what i've read, most people use 35mm profile so they don't rub on the rear arches. Take a look on wheels and Tyres in the general section Daz, think they can even get away with 225/35/18.

On a Type-r and a P1 (2 door shell) they go for 225/35/18... but on a 4 door you will need to look at a 215/35/18.

I'm running 215/35/18 on mine and running low and never had any issues at all... -50mm lowing springs on mine to

I just found my receipt for my wheels and oops my size was 215x35x18 not 215x45x18.

Though watch when parking near curbs, as I found mine very easy to curb especially on the first day of having them on the car. I could of kicked myself over and over again.

215/35/18 here aswell, but it depends on the make of tyre what u can get away with, i had Toyo T1S which were fine no rubbing at all and probably could of got away with 225/35/18 in Toyo.

I then fitted Avon ZZ3 in 215/35/18, these are a lot wider than the "same" size Toyo tyre probably wider than a 225 toyo, these did rub on the rear arches, i had a 1/4 of a degree extra negative camber (over prodrive settings) put on and there now fine.

My car is quite low on Tein Coilovers
