VF34
The VF34 is nearly identical to the VF30, with the same exhaust housing and compressor. However the VF34 goes back to the ball bearing design, and in doing so achieves full boost approximately 500RPM sooner than the comparable VF30. The VF34 is the most recent IHI design and as such costs slightly more than its counterpart. Top end performance and maximum output are identical to the 30.

the td 05 will give the same power output but it hasn't got ball bearing design, so i would go for the vf myself

my vf 23 has the ball bearing design and i have had no probs with it its still as good today as when i bought it ,
hope this helps

IMHO VF34 is the better turbo but they are very sort after and don't come up second hand very often (as they were only ever fitted to V7 STI RA's as standard like VC's) and normally fetch £450-500.

Just jump straight in with an 18 or 20 G............

it won't be long after fitting a smaller turbo, that you'll be wanting MORE MORE MORE !!

VF's are supposed to be quicker spoling and give plenty of power but the TD's supposed to be alittle tougher and seem to give more at the topend.

My VF28 I picked up off ebay for £125 with 75K on it and it has done another 25K of hard use on my car and still performs without any trouble at all.

I'd use which ever you can get at a good price
