Already posted this in the technical and general thought i would post it here and seek help and advice from the locals

I own an X Reg 2001 last of the classic shape, im pretty sure that the Turbo is a TD04 i would just like a few people to confirm this please im having trouble with the turbo looks like im going to need to change it. Im wondering if i could fit a TD05 as a direct replacement without having to change or re-map the ECU?

Also could anyone give me some details on what ECU maybe in the car or the easiest way to find out, Thanks guys any help would be really appretiated

You'll have a TD04 on yours, Changing to a TD05 is easy but I wouldn't drive it on boost unless it was remapped.

With regards to the ECU yours is the later A802(I think) which isn't as good as the the one on the My99 cars which is the A801(I think) this is all down to emissions on the My00 cars, both can be Ecutek remapped.
