Damaged my car in forestery!!
Hi all
On fathers day, i took the Mrs and kids to Garwnant Park and picnic area
So drove up to Lovely Brecon and the Garwnant Forestery Commission Park.
We parked up, paid our £2 car park ticket, and met with some friends. A quick kick of the football and a couple of egg sarnies and we were away as the Mosies were out in force.
As we proceeded in convoy to leave the car park down the one way system, i was confronted with this
I tried the locked gate next to the metal flaps but it was no good There was a queue of about 6 cars all backed up waiying for me to get on with it.
So i asked Sha(the Mrs) to get out and guide me over the obsticle
but no matter how i tried the damage was done
So after a while i found out i needed to speak to a man called Mansel Jones from the Forestery Commission.
Phoned Mansel Yesterday he said "You will have to go through your car insurance. We have over 200,000 cars through there every year with no problems and also i own a sports car and come through there loads of times with no trouble or damage"
I thought that was a bit of a cop out as i was on their land it is the obsticle and there were no signs to state that the exit had extra high one way gaurds.
Any related usefull advice would be appreciated

I think you may have to bite the bullet on this Jules though it is well worth arguing the case. It would probably end up in the courts so you will have to weigh up the hasstle factor
It won't cost too much to get the splitter sprayed again.
From the looks of it you have caught the one on the far left as you had positioned the car over to the right

Or 50 quid to respray the front splitter and no hassle of trying to claim off them / phone calls / letters.....I know it's principle but I'd just get it painted myself m8

I know it's no help, but from the photo it looks to me that you're going out an entrance.. from the way the plates are facing you'd come over them from the other direction and they'd flatten..
Can you get back up there and see if they've marked the exit the wrong way..?

I'd still write to complain and take matters further. Theres no need for that sort of thing to protect a car park!!!!! from the photos it looks to be poorly maintained too boot, ie two are stuck down and three are pointing up
Unless they have a sign at the entrance advising of minimum ground clearance required to enter or exit there car park then I'd be asking for them to pay for repairs.
It does look interesting, given more time I'd if tried to of cabled tied them down or even taken them apart with the socket set.
And before anyone says it, They can afford it, have you seen the price of timber!!!!!!!!
