Default So whats going on on the A48 out of Cardiff then?

The Police have been camping out on the A48 since Friday. I've seen what looks like a number plate recognition van parked up between the St. Mellons / Pontprennau junction as well as numerous ST220's and even the 'famous' evo constantly parked up on the Pontprennau flyover.

Seems to be a sustained campaign whatever they are up to so be careful out there

its down to the increased security after the activities of those ******* in london and glasgow.drove out of my village and down the road past the new lng construction site to be greeted with 2 coppers armed with machine guns, also marked and unmarked volvos all around the milford area,im pleased to say they completely ignored me in my council ldv van.
so if they are watching for trouble down here they are deffo on alert up with you.

has anyone noticed how much chaos they have caused. I got stuck in a tailback last night at 6 right the way back to the M4 turn off. as soon as we passed the cops the traffic cleared.

heard a good joke though.

1 can of petrol - £5.20
2 calor gas canisters - £22.50
1 Jeep Cherokee - £2795
Watching a terrorist burn to death - priceless

oops sorry its not politically correct.

They were stopping and checking all cars going near the airport a couple of mornings ago - makes sense as all the airports have been on maximum security alert since the attack on Glasgow.

Funnily enough the Father in law got stopped last night on the A48 by the old Merc garage. 30 mins and numerous id checks later he was on his way again. He was more than impressed with the file of information that came up on screen about the car and him!

Back in the 80s was visiting my uncle in BAOR Germany. We had to travel through communist East Germany to get there. We were warned that the authorities would know if we got to our destination too soon (speeding) or too late (spying). And if you stopped paramilitaries would get you with nets.

The folks were so anxious about this that when my sister wanted to go to pee she was made to go in my ruddy sling (I had a broken arm at the time - photographic evidence to prove - the broken arm that is).

So East Germany then, UK now. Who would ever have believed it? And still the crims get away with it.
