Unhappy On the back of flatbed truck!

Just waved goodbye to my scoob, as it was driven away on a flatbed truck, gone to a lock up tonight, and off to CVC in the morning to see what wrong with it, looks like the fuel pump has packed in .

Anybody have any ideas on how much this will cost time to kiss the bank managers a$$ me thinks .

Just popped to Argos Newport Road, she drove there no problems, we werent in there 10 minutes, came back out started her up, but she didnt want to stay running, back firing a few times and then died, tried turning her over again, no fuel pump noise, got the old recovery people out (Greenflag) they were there in 15 minutes, then the flatbed followed in 10mins and took her away. So I guess I will be missing the meet tomorrow peeps, never mind, I'll keep you all informed on the progress of my bank balance

Thanks everyone it sounds good, but she is off to CVC in the morning, so my bill will look more like £385 plus I wouldnt know where to start, I know it says easy installation but, I'll leave it to those in the know. I just hope they fit a decent one in.)

tbh if it is just the fuel pump i would ask for the car back and do it yourself. As mentioned earlier on a Warboro pump is about £80 delivered and fitting is easy so free!

Having done it the once i (and many others!) would help you fit it

I know you said you wouldn't want to do it your self. But there is nothing like being thrown in at the deep end to help you learn how to do something. If you get stuck, you've got this forum for advice. And the bank manager wouldn't even know

If it's the fuel pump then easy days, Should only take them an hour max to fit.

Back seat out, Disconnect the fuel pump, Run the car until it runs out of fuel, disconnect the battery, Undo the six bolts and remove the cover, take out pump and replace with new one and do everything in reverse to put back together.

But if it's a broken wire in the loom to the pump then that could take ages to find.

Thanks gents, for the help, offers and info, I'll let CVC have a look at it this time around, recovery guy said fuel pump but it might be something else, glad Ive only got 1/4 of a tank mind you it is Vpower , do they replace this mind you they cannot run the car because the wont start, its turning over but refusing to stay running, keeps cutting out and there are no revs whats so ever, your revving the car and there is no responce, slight backfires and then stalls.

Cheers Ian, shes in a lock up at the mo, as she wouldnt go anywhere, and they are delivering her to CVC in the morning, I could have had it brought back to the house but if I couldnt fix it (Which I couldnt do as I havent got a clue )I would have been in trouble and realing on you guys to bail me out The recovery guy seemed to think it was the fuel pump but wasnt too sure, and with work at the moment, I dont know when I would have the time to fix her, my boss is off on hols, leaving me to be the boss as well as doing my own job, its a crappy 12 hour shift for me, so I'm sending her off to CVC, but as I said not sure when they will repair her and the dreaded "How much"

Bad luck runs in threes and this is my third, my CCTV camera system I bought was naff £115, that got returned to Argos, bought myself a lcd tv for my xbox360 instead from argos £250 that had pixels out on it, that got returned to argos today and now the car, so I guess the scoob hated argos runs, but the bad luck has gone up in price range

I'll keep you posted on the outcome, hooray for CVC VIP cards it will come in very handy this time

Thanks to all that has offered parts and help, all your names are firmly logged just incase something else goes wrong

Well its the morning after, and it feels like a family member is in hospital I think it was a shock to the scoob, she normally goes out on a weekend, but it was three days in a row this week

I'll keep you posted, but thanks again to all for your help
