Default Just had a lift home

On the back of a breakdown truck.

Hit a pothole on A48, tyre started going down - managed to get to Tesco at Culver to put some air in the tyre, other half says the machine's not working cos the tyre wasn't inflating so he sets off for the next garage. Halfway down the A4232 it's obvious the tyre's fcuked cos the cars plodding along at 30-40mph. Managed to get to BP garage on Hadfield Road, had a look at the tyre and the inside wall had completely blown out.

One horrible sandwich and a 1 3/4hour wait later our lift arrived.

Now we have to buy a new tyre.

And I'm tired.

Of course we have a spare wheel but we couldn't get the wheel off to get the spare one on The locking wheel nut was cracked and wouldn't come off and the socket cracked while we were trying to get it undone.

Nothing against CVC but the last time that wheel was taken off was when the car had some work done in there. Maybe they were a bit over-enthusiastic with the air gun.

Wheel is fine.

Chip is right, I claimed for a CV and ball joint on a Cavalier some years ago from some company laying pipes. They hadn't cordoned off a huge pot hole. When the guy from the company came to the house to deal with my complaint he brough a blank cheque with my name on it (literally). Apparently he was resigned to paying. But I had told him before he came around that I had gone back to the hole with a tape measure and a camera and therefore had pictorial evidence of the depth of the hole so he had no chance of proving me wrong.
