Default tyre advice

right boys and girls i'm in serious need of some new rubber and have narrowed the search down to a set of either:

Goodyear EAGLE F1 GS-D3 225/40 ZR18 92Y XL BSW, VSB

or

Toyo PROXES T1-R 225/40 ZR18 92Y RF Rim-protectionleiste

Anyone tried both or have an opinion. I've not been too impressed with the wear of my t1-s so am a bit wary of going with toyos again.

Ditto. I'm looking to replace mine in a month or two so knowing where to get the cheapest Goodyear's would be helpful.

well the cheapest place for the goodyears seems to be mytyres.com - think i will be ordering a set tomorrow - £396 delivered.

Richie - i had a set of 4 verdesteins on my uk300 for 6 months before i sold the car - i was really impressed with them to be honest - great grip and wore well. Having said that i got a set of 4 18" for about 300 from mytyres, where did you get yours?

Yeah kind of having a cr@p time at the moment! Its on the up now as the sun is shining and loads of new eye candy turned up mostly Itaian. Mmmmm. Still cannot believe how poor a country it is though. Makes you think how lucky and spoilt we are.

Anyway rob how much and where from in the end?

Will do. Need to check the bleeding on mine and alignment soon as I get back so I can enjoy them. Not looking forward to the journey home mind you! Safari is booked for tuesday in the masai mara safai lodge for three days.Hoping it is going to be great. See you all at the welsh although I will be in the nissan I think as I haven't got a pass. If anyone has a spare can you PM me please?

well i got them fitted yesterday - hard to give a direct comparison as i am waiting to scrub them in a bit but first impressions are there is much less road noise (the toyos were pretty much slicks so this might have a part to play!) the steering is much lighter (same thing) andthere is much less lean in corners, even taking it relatively easy - they seem to have a much harder (and better) side wall of the toyos. Will give a full report soon!
