Default CEL light again - good Subaru customer services

I have spent this weekend in Corby, Northants, visiting "Ma".

I took a half day on Friday to pick the Boy up from nursery before heading off on the 200+ mile journey. As I was leaving Bridgend on the A48 by Bridgend Ford, I booted it up the hill in 4th at 60mph {cough }.

The CEL light flashed for 30 secs, then came on full, then flashed for 30 secs, then came on and stayed on.....not again

This time I had a big journey ahead of me so took it steady all the way. Car was lumpy off boost but fine over 3.5k rpms.

Left the car on the drive overnight, woke up yesterday morning, CEL still on

Didn't want to keep driving the car without having it checked so phoned "Westaway Motors" near Northampton and asked how much for a diagnostic check - £25.

I took it over on Saturday, he plugged in the "thingy" and found 1 error stored. "Engine Missfire Detected"

I told him about the mods, he checked all the engine parameters, fanny'd about in the engine bay and said "everything seems fine". I asked him to reset the ECU and after confirming the ecutek is permanently stored and won't be wiped, he reset it.

He then waived the fee before waving me off. Top customer service and a big thanks to the guy - Subaru customer service as you'd expect it.

Anyway, the car feels "ok" but still a bit lumpy sometimes, possibly a bad contact, bad plug or lead?!?!

That CEL light is starting to become a bit of a pain rich.

Kev - you're right, it's beginning to erode my confidence a bit. What with the clutch judder (that's gone for now) I'm beginning to have concerns about the future health of my wallet

John - I had my 40k service a few weeks back at Powerstation, not sure if the plugs were changed but I'm pretty sure they were changed in the last service at CVC last year (30k service).

I may have to get it checked out again, it's just a shame Powerstation is so far - it means a day off work each time
