New member saying Hello
Just wanted to say a quick hello from a new member
I recently bought a MY00 Dark Red Mica Classic-shape UK Turbo Saloon. I've only just got around to registering here, its been a busy few weeks.
The car's totally stock at the moment, but I'm looking into a crystal pack for the front end since I don't like orange lights on Impreza's. Anyone know what to do with that weird triangular wedge below the indicators? I'm guessing that can be taken out and sprayed the same colour as the body, right?

Cheers for the welcome guys,
Hmmm, never though of black. That could look ok, any pics of your old car showing the front end, Blue Dragoon?
Yeah, saw the info about that meet tomorrow, not sure I can make that - already fully booked this week. Saw the details of the Abergavenny event on the 23rd tho, that looked interesting.

Hi there
Hi there, contrary to popular belief the wedges are brown. Give them a good rub down with some wet and dry followed by plastic primer and then the colour of your choice. Little bit of laquer and hey presto. Personally I'd make them the same colour as the car. Here's one I did some time ago.

Thats a nice looking front end.
But then colour coding the wedges on a silver car will look much better than on a red or blue one, since silver is not far from the colour of the clear lenses.
Think thats prob the best idea, though, colour coding the wedges. I'm going for the subtle look.
Well, as subtle as a scooby can get.
Crystal lenses, sti rear light clusters (for a total de-tango) and a decent MP3 head unit. That'll do. I'm not planning on massive engine upgrades, did that with my old MR2 Supercharger which ended up a lot more temperamental as a result.

Ha ha, no talking me into engine mods!! I'm hoping to keep it std for now while i just enjoy it in stock form. Still getting used to the car and enjoying it as it is.
The only thing that bothers me at the mo is its orange bits.

" I'm happy with the engine, but I might change the back box and the spoiler"
You'll want more power, so you're change the centre pipe and then de-cat it, this roll's onto a remap. 6 months go by and then you see a cheap FMIC on ebay which leads to a bigger turbo and then another remap. oh I've got all this extra power and you wonder why the clutch starts slipping, an exedy one will sort that out, but as the gearbox is out, you may as well stick on a lightened flywheel
You've got all this extra power and then you think, mmm better sort the brakes out!! Brembo disc's and calipers will slow the monster down.
As for Wheels, it's cheaper to buy a new set of wheels with new tyres and sell the old ones on, than just buying new tyres!!!!! I'm on my forth set of wheels in 3 years!!!!!!!
£6K later and the modding is still going
I so wish I bought an STI in the first place
