Default Disc and Pad fitting.

Decided against bigger and went for better instead.

Due to get some Black Diamond Discs and pads delivered Friday.

Anything I should be aware of when fitting???

Hope to do them Saturday morning. I think I have all the tools.

Any help is appreciated.

Ta All in anticipation.

Ian

i would make sure you use anti seize grease on the backs
of the pads that go against the caliper.

Still no discs and pads. Courier is being ****
Paid for Next Day and that was last Wednesday.
The car is now sat outside the house less discs and pads.
It has given me the opportunity to clean up the backing plates, sliders, Caliper and Metal back plates.
Also discovered that I had a set of bolts to use for the disc removal. TFFT.

Hopefully today

Where did you get them from Ian and which discs/pads exactly?

Be interested to experience the new brake setup once they're bedded in? (eg. you drive like a bat out of hell and I shout STOP! and you hit the brakes until both our eyeballs pop out )

I have/had the Black diamond pads on mine, with Red dot Racing disc's, have to say the pads were much better than the red dot racing one's I had on first, they wore out in 7500 miles!!!!!!, the black diamond ones lasted a good 20K.

Pretty cheap as well, I think it was £45 ish for a set of pads.

You can order direct from Black diamond to save some cash!!!!

I'm in the process of changing over to brembo's from a STI9, Picked up off ebay for £590, by the time you sell the 4 pots with disc's for £250ish it works out a bloody good buy!!!! for a brand new set of disc's, pads and calipers

Drilled and Grooved Discs and Predator Pads. Scoobyworld. All in £225 (+£20 delivery which was fecking late, but not down to Scoobyworld).
Piece of wee wee to fit.
Did the copper grease thing and a bit of bedding in last night. Driving with the brake pedal pressed helped a lot.
The old Subaru pads seemed very brittle when I removed them! A bit of flaking going on.
Now stopping is much better

Much better feel. I think the fluid will be changed soon to Dot 4 or 5. Any ideas chaps?

Dot 5 is the way to go, IMO.
