Hi Mark,
No problem, it was all a bit...rushed really last time,....just out of interest would you and Karen like to organise a meet down your way as I recall you have some experience with a previous car club, and the possibility of a Castle Coombe trip which we'd all enjoy.
Note to all, sorry I haven't contacted you via phone but Paul (RB5) had the telephone numbers and I haven't seen him recently.

As always you can count me in .
A copy of that video wouldn't go amiss either Chris mate .
As far as events for us as Welsh Scoobynet/SIDC, heres a few options:-
My mates who run the West Wales RSOC have offered us an area in their Margam Park show. It is a static show admittedly (so lots of cleaning and polishing to look presentable ) but its a tidy day out-I've knowledge through helping out for the last few years in my RS days. We each have to pay the normal entry fee.
Another possibility would be to enquire about getting a Welsh Scoobynet/SIDC stand at the RSOC Castle Coombe show. Again, a good day out with track action to watch (or take part if you're up to it!!!).
Just a thought......
Cya all soon,
David

The West Wales show is on Sunday June 3rd and the Castle Coombe RSOC day is on Saturday 22nd July.
If enough people are interested in both/either of the shows then we need to sort it out ASAP because the RS shows get booked up very early in the year.
Perhaps we can get everyone's opinion at the Feb. meeting and we'll go from there.

Dave W,
I went to last years RSOC club meeting in Margam with a mate who's got a MK2 RS2000.
What a laugh. I know I like to keep my own car clean but these guys were just so so sad. Putting mirrors under their cars so people could see how shiny their exhausts were amazed me. Some of these sad people even had two sets of wheels with them. If it was a track day that would be understandable but the spare set was to go on the car after it had been driven to Margam.
So if anyone wants a laugh go along and have a look.
Chip

Point taken Chip, and I must admit I've been there and won the trophies (yeah, yeah - so I'm sad ) but the load of trophies I won added value to my cossie and hence I got a better deal when it came to buying the scoob .
My idea of being there is more to just represent the SIDC / Scoobynet along with all the other car clubs in the area. Anyway, if a static shows not your thing perhaps you'd be up for castle coombe??????

Right, time...i think we ought to look at an 11.30 to 12.00 gathering at the car park while setting off at 1, hopefully giving everyone time to have lunch, (if they want) and drinks.
Note: As far as i'm concerned this a set date but there is an element of doubt which might crop up, an unavoidable problem that might make us absent for the day, But that is VERY MINIMAL, and I'd inform you all well in advance of any problems (e.g we can't make it) But the chance of it happening is very very slim

Paul,
The Ty-Nant is in Radyr, Cardiff.
Turn off the A470 at Castell Coch. If coming from South take first exit which then goes over the river to another R/about. Take left here and pub is about 500 yards on the right at the next set of lights just past the garden centre.
As for Sunday unfortunately I have to work so I wont be able to come along this time unless I can get back home in time. This is unlikely as I have to travel 100 miles to the job and back to Cardiff again.
So I hope everyone has a good time. Remember drive carefully and watch out for those coppers around Brecon.
By the way if anyone from West Wales passes a light blue Transco van travelling back to Cardiff on Sun morning give me a wave.
Dave W , Well have to get that meeting together in a pub one night soon.
Cheers everyone.
Have good time
Chip.
