Hello
Afternoon Folks,
Long time lurker, first time poster! I’ve just bought an imported STIv5 and was looking for advice on mods. I know this has probably been done to death on other parts of the board, but thought I’d ask anyway. I’m thinking remap first and gauges – something like a knocklink or SECS monitor. What do you think? Also, need a 30K service (gonna be an expensive month!) and was thinking DRJ in Carmarthen, or possibly Osaka-Design in Cardiff (I live in Pontypridd). DRJ always seem to be highly recommended but does anyone know anything about Osaka and whether they do servicing? Thanks in advance all.

Welcome.
Decat Exhaust, air filter and remap, are normally the first things to be modded. uprated break discs are also worth thinking about.
Have a secs on mine, have to say it's very good, reads fault codes and tell's you loads of engine info, you do have to buy the oil presure and oil temp sensors on top, another £180 i think. I do have one niggle with it, you can't read the screen when bright light shines on it (Not sure if the new VDF screen solves this).
I haven't used DRJ yet but I will be using them for the next service.

hi mate and welcome,
as above de cat it with a filter and have it mapped, i've got a knock link and secs monitor and can recommend both, depends on how hard you drive it if you need a brake upgrade or not but i've got a godspeed 335 set up on mine and it transforms the brakes!! DRJ are top blokes mate and i used them last year to fit my uprated clutch and lightened/balanced flywheel.

The boys on scooby wales recommend cvc in Cardiff for servicing, I have recently
used Osaka for a service and they were excellent, the only querie from the boys was the type of oil used in my car, they said that Osaka Shouldn't have used Mobil1 0W-40
Oil, as it's too thin, Osaka have taken a lot of advice and have agreed to change oil to the recommended one off Subaru etc. But i will definately be using Osaka again.
Kash is a great bloke and drives a scooby himself. Tell them that you are a member
of scoobywales.co.uk and you will be given a discount, give Kash a ring.
