Steady on now

Is there any truth in the rumour that the service costs will sober you up

I can see many a biased comment comming on, but i agree with Si (not myself) that maintenance issue's should be taken into account, i'd keep the scooby.

Its bad enough seeing sti8s every time Im out and around....an evo might tip me over the edge...

You havent had it v long....give it time (& PPP!)

Evo has more Kudos (duck & run!), but also 4.5k diff oil change which seems to vary between £80-200 depending on who you talk to. Ive seen evos being compared to M5s and 911s in 'evo' a few years back and being critisised on running costs!

Ok...Im just jealous!

m8 - if you haven't had the STi8 ppp'd - get it done, it makes a big difference to the car. I haven't driven an Evo, but it obvious from the many comments that its a bit more hardcore than the Scoob, its a case of whether you can live with it on a day to day/cost basis.

I would love to try one, but its not a practical option for me, and 95% of the time any performance advantage over Scoob isn't important.

Ultimately, its your choice, and you won't be disappointed, but look at the ppp first

Cheers, Gareth

When I had my PPP fitted it totally transformed the car mate. Might be worth getting the springs and the ARB done aswell .... totally improves the handling

Wink

Buy an EVO.

Its a better car by miles. Plus the tuning goodies available are awesome & u can get some serious power hikes as well.

Cool EVO

I've been in the same boat, wondering what to do. When I got my sti8 it understeered like pi**ed donkey, so I got a test drive in an evo... firmer ride, tacky build & on the road couldn't really see alot of difference in straight line speed; if any. The following weekend I got powerstation to do the 4walignment & fit a White line ARB. MEGA.... a really good drive. If you haven't had this done I would suggest you do! Save the 2k for the ppp.. Spend it on lovely ladies or something.

Rear ARB + solid drop links and the 4 wheel alignment cost around £250 from Powerstation. I'll dig out the receipt later if you need a more precise figure
