CVC day at Castle Combe

had a brilliant day - 4 of us from CVC went (approx 35-40 there altogether from other garages)
morning : 1) Kartng
2) Off Road course
afternoon : 3) Driving skills course (diving through cones etc)
4) Formula finesse - tyre thingy attaced to bonnet
with a ball inside the tyre. Aim is to get around a
track as fast as possible without sending the ball
out of the tyre
5) being driven around CC by an instructor in an STI 8
(standard) - fast drivers
6) we then drove an STI 8(standard), 03 WRX, an
Forrester around the track. Sounds easy but it was
a lot harder than I thought (previous experience of
track layout would have helped etc) - but I still
got 110mph which wasn't too bad considering it was
bucketing down.
7) Mike Woods (Prodrive) took us around the circuit in
an STI 8 PPP - he was having fun rather than going
for good lap times - ie sideways(and I mean really
sideways) everywhere. Brilliant driver (made me see
how rubbish I was - I may have been good in the
Karts but in a real car its a totally different
ball game)

i agree with hel........great day
shame about the weather
but it looks drier today
and i am off to castle combe again today
