Welcome Dan. Its a great site to meet like minded people.

A good way to keep your car maintained is regular servicing for one. Keep an eye on oil levels and quality of oil, if it gets black change it no matter how many miles you may or may not of done.

Usuals are dont push it hard till its warm, try to let it cool down after a run.

There are many many other things to check as well, just depends how often is it used and what for.
