Default WRX Exhaust

Well guys its unfortunately new exhaust time as the rear section is blowing.
I had a Cobra cat back on my hatch and was very pleased with its quality so started looking at a replacement for the WRX which look to be a good choice given the cost but is it worth going for the 3 inch pipe work or will the 2 and half inch do the job bearing in mind that the car already had an aftermarket system in 3 inch albeit welded together and as a brand unrecognizable. Any input welcome before I place the order.
Thanks Andy

Edit. after reading I suppose the question I ended not asking is if you down size the exhaust will it make any diffence

Depending on what power your car is running Andy fitting a 2.5" system could actually give you slightly more power over a 3" system you had previously. If the car has been mapped then I would take it back to the place who mapped it for a tweak or if you have no history of it being done then a complete new map.

I am a fan of the Ninja 2 or HKS depending on how loud you want to go.

I found the Milltek on my Foggy STi would tarnish badly.

Agree on that one, but its a well made system and cuts the mustard for me noise wise.

p.s. find me a man that doesn't enjoy polishing his tip from time to time...

Big thanks to Dean and the lads at the Arches for sorting out my new exhaust so nice to deal with enthusiasts as well as technicians.Dean had a good look at the car while it was on the ramps and apart from a couple or c.v.boot clips which they fitted all is well.Fitted a double din Alpine head set last week and also refitted the rear spoiler after my first effort ended in the usual leak in the boot so praying for rain to see if my second effort is a success. It never ceases to amaze me as much as you try not to spend too much money on the car it always seems to drain your pockets, the joys of Subaru ownership.

Hi Jay,bought a Afterburner Vortex cat back in stainless, have to admit for the price a very nicely put together system looks good on the car and I like the way it comes out at the back at an angle also comes with a burnt back box tip.
All in all very happy

Good stuff, I've been thinking of changing to something a bit quieter as it's to loud for Alisa so I'm going replace the non resonated section with a resonated and hopefully it'll be more to her liking.
