Default classic nearside 4 pot caliper wanted...

As title guys, after a good working 4 pot caliper, due to me snapping the bleed nipple on my existing, and it being beyond repair after various attempts at removal.

Thanks
Rob

What have you done exactly , we might be able to fix it , even by fitting a larger diameter nipple , if you have snapped and easy out though I can't do it
Cheers Ian

Thanks for the offer, but that's what's happend, the easy out snapped inside the nipple, even after drenching it in penetration fluid, and some gentle heat from a pencil tipped oxy acetylene torch. The calipers were refurbed by yourself about 3 years ago, with the ss pistons etc, which I thought was strange for the nipple to snap in the first place, again I used plenty of penetration fluid before attempting to undo. The offside released easy enough.

If you had given me a shout then we could have fixed it easily for you

The only time I could see that happening on a freshly reconditioned caliper was if the nipple was tightened up too much , no other reason for it really.
If you get another casting I can swap over the pistons and seals so you know its a good working caliper
Cheers Ian

You may get it spark eroded which will remove the easy out with doing the treads any mischief. As long as they arnt damaged already. Its about £30

As Ian says only way it would seize is from been over tightened. They only need a nip up

Well i installed them and bled them when I received them back, I'm pretty gentle when I need to be and neither side were over tightened.

If I can obtain a Replacment caliper I can do the change over of pistons etc to save time and money. I recently purchased some spare seals etc from AS Performance so I have that side covered if needed.

Unfortunately my pal has gone a bit past that stage and took it upon himself to cut a 'slot' across the caliper, to try and then get a flat bladed screwdriver into the remains of the nipple/easy out and consequently I think the caliper is only good for scrap now

Tell me about it ty, mot tomoro, 4 wheel alignment Friday, it's a never ending task owning a Subaru! All I will say, as I said to Jay, don't look at her too closely, she'll not mint by any means but she will certainly have 7 months worth of cobwebs to blow out (yes it's been that long lol)
