Another stroker build.
2.1 Ready to go go.
Closed deck block. Nitrided crank. ACL Race and WRC bearings. Cosworth rods. Cosworth pistons. Cosworth head gaskets. Cosworth Baffle. Cosworth cam belt. Cosworth plus 1mm inconel/stainless valves. Cosworth titanium retainers and dual springs. Lateral 06 cams. CDF pullies. CDF belt guide. RCM 14mm studs. RCM 12mm oil pump.
Head flowing, machining, balancing and building all hand finished by Andrew Bates. It's one of a pair!

For us mortals a 500 bhp build starts around £3K for the bottom end...
When A.J. gets some spare time to build it !
LoL
dunx
P.S. Mine ( might ? ) start next month

2.1 with everything needed engine wise for 500 bhp £4500 drive in drive out.
That's a new 79 mm crank, Wiseco pistons, K1 rods, ACL Race bearings, ARP studs, RCM oil pump, Cosworth head gaskets and sump baffle.
It includes heads overhauled, fully balanced assembly etc.
Also the first 50 miles of running in.
You could leave everything else as it is, then come back later on, add the kit and let it rip!

Better low-end torque, improved spool, without losing the higher rev. limit of the 2 litre, Oh and A.J. loses yet more sleep running the night shift...
dunx
P.S. A big money 2.5 can rev like a 2 litre, but they make monsterous low-end torque...

I'm sure Bigarf will confirm just how fragile 2.5's can be...
But a 2.35 is going to be superb. Tough enough for 700+.
dunx
P.S. I'm a cheapskate so it's 501 bhp for mine...

One easy answer is that a 2.1 is better than a 2 litre in virtually every respect, and we wouldn't have any difficulty in recommending one if you're going to do a build from scratch.
