Warning to other traders - card fraud
After reading Bob5's earlier post this morning, warning other traders of card fraud, JP4mance TP have also been targeted.
Yesterday we took a large order via the website which was sent out to the billing address, despite the customer requesting a different shipping address later on. We took a call from an edlerly lady today who said she had received Subaru parts she didn't order.
The fraudster has a bunch of cards in other peoples names which were all tried and failed on our website. Every order was for Impreza parts.
Card numbers:
Master cards ending 5143, 2765, 8752 and Maesto ending 7755

Leeds, West Yorkshire.
The package we sent to the card holders billing address has been collected and hopefully the old lady has contacted her bank to cancel the card(s).
So, anyone who wonders why we'll only send to a card holders billing address... now you know

thanks for the heads up.
We sometimes get 2 or 3 fraud attempts per week, and after losing a lot of money due to one a couple of years back (that also hit 3 other traders on here) we're super vigilant now.
Would be a good idea for all us traders to exchange email addresses so we can warn each other - anyone interested drop me a pm. We already warn a few other traders when we find definate frauds

Agreed, I requested a private traders forum so that we could discuss things like this in private but nothing has been done.

Thank's, Neil but as above, it's unlikely the person responsible actually lives at this address. Fraudsters have clever ways of obtaining goods by deception. The post is just to warn other traders.

It's a complex business, not helped by the banks, who don't give a damn.
We are arguing about a possible chargeback from Lloyds TSB at the moment, after we had full verification and sent the stuff to the correct billing address and got a signature.
What else can you do ?
My attitude is a thief is a thief, and sooner or later they get what's coming.
