Alan, I know this might be difficult, but could you post up a list of combinations of engines you offer, as I know a few people keep asking. I know there are so many options it will be hard, but an over-view would be good.
I.e
- Drive in-Drive out, using our own block
- A 2.1 S-CDB short block posted
- A 2.1 CDB short block posted
- If we posted our long blocks to you, you work the magic and send them back
- etc
Nice results too

CDB price depends on what is available!
We wouldn't be at all worried running 500 bhp from a S-CDB.

We strip and chemically clean the blocks, bore and hone using stress plates and balance the assemblies. All engines are trial assembled and set up for correct CR. We overhaul the heads including guides. The price includes Wiseco pistons and K1 rods, a new 2.5 crank and Cosworth or ACL Race engine bearings. We use Cosworth head gaskets, ARP head studs and RCM uprated oil pumps.
We have packages from £2150 for built short blocks and £4150 for full drive in drive out, including all of the above and more.
Of course we can also offer custom builds using more exotic components like the full house EJ22 stroker we built recently using large valve 14mm stud CNC heads and Cosworth cams.

There's a lot of personal choice when it boils down to it!
You need around £8000 to match the EJ22 build, just for the engine.

The engine itself depends on final spec, but the one matching the car in the graph above would cost £3600 including vat. It would come painted, suited and booted, just plug it in!

We're working on a slightly higher spec version now for the greedy types.
Mahle parts figure!

Watching this thread with interest,
You quoted a price on a built short motor at £2150, I am guessing this is a SCDB motor. You mention that this will be good for 500bhp, what torque would you be expecting on this Alan.
Buying a short motor ready to install is very interesting, if you could provide an approx price on the 2.2L stroker (2.35L) short motor it would be greatly appreciated

The short motor would be based on your block, so if you supply an S-CDB, that's what it would come back with! Obviously we can use an open deck or fully closed as well. The closed deck needs the rear thrust machining done, which we price up at £146 inc vat.
We have been able to supply blocks in most cases if you don't have one.
The EJ22 block costs near as dammit the same to build, again you'd need the block!
We can offer a very wide range of parts for these, starting at the levels shown above and going on from there.
Our view is that we aren't into offering "kits". The machining and building is critical, and we're working hard to maintain a standard.

Having been lucky enough to sample a 2.1 CDB @ 627 bhp, all I can say is...
Astonishing, it felt quicker than the "drag" Skyline I was lucky enough to passenger in a while back, ( well it would it's lighter.... & more powerful too ! ).
dunx
P.S. Saving up, I have a pallet ready !

Well, it's about using those components that you'd have if you had the ready cash, and wanted to push the boat out. We generally aim to make the maximum out of the stock rpm limits, but if you wanted to go for a higher rpm engine, you'd need top stuff. We're putting together a package, and we'll post it up soon.

Can we see any movies of the cdb stroker build alan? i mean one up and running from cold and warn Well you say that these builds arent to the best spec but they seem capable at big hp levels. How reliable are they?

Well, eventually, which is why we don't run them over stock RPM levels unless built for it. I dare say McLaren don't skimp at 18,000 rpm!
I've always made the point that if you operate the engine properly, they can take some heat. Some head and cam combinations are the problem, rather than the short blocks in any event.

Come down and try our demo car! The difference is like watching a DVD of Kelly Brook as against spending the night with her.
The builds are using the best components for the task we set ourselves, which was to create a tough, well engineered base for further tuning at an affordable price.
We use only brand new cranks, Wiseco pistons and K1 H beam rods with Cosworth bearings. We have proven these units at over 600 bhp.
Time doesn't stand still! We have been asked occasionally for alternative builds for specific uses, racing and rallying for example, also those who wish to invest a little extra into the machinery for peace of mind at high rpm levels. I'd like to think we can pass some of that on to the fast road car enthusiast.
We have always offered bespoke engines, it's the advantage of having our own dedicated machine shop and build facility.
