I think I'd prefer the rear APs. What options are available for rears please.

Ok I'll get you a price tomorrow, the later kits actually use a larger disc , and are cheaper than the early smaller kits

Great, it'll probably be about three weeks or so until I can order. But I'll definitely be needing them.

Hi Ian,

Spoke a few months ago about your AP Racing CP9040 kit.
Is the CP7040 Kit acceptable for hard track/competition use (IE Piston seals adequate etc)

Is this kit available with Genuine AP discs?
Are your discs available yet with J-Hooks?
What pads would you recommend for Track use?

Ready to order this week, just want the best bang for buck :-)

Sorry for all the questions :-)

Tom

No probs. will require some new brakes soon though, uncertain as to what. Currently got standard brembos, with your own discs and blue stuff pads. Cheers

Hi

We have a few customers using this kit for Tarmac rallying , I'm using the 7600 4 pot road calipers on my clio rally car , as the dust seals are big as they cover the full piston just about , they can melt with very hard sustained use , on my clio I didn't bother fitting new dust seals , but then it doesn't do a lot of mileage , and I have had no issues with them , I do left foot brake a lot so probably get them hotter than the average driver.
You will get zero issues with the hydraulic seal , but may get issues with the dust seal with very hard use , seeing very high temps.

No AP 330mm discs won't suit this setup as the pads are too wide , our 330mm rotors for this setup have a much wider pad area , we could offer this kit with either 355mm or 362mm AP discs , kits would work out about £400 more.

No we don't offer our discs with J hooks , only curved grooves as in the photo.

For track use , I would either go with CL RC 6 or 8's , or ds3000's , or even PF 08's , the price would vary depending on which of these you go for as they are more expensive than the DS2500's or Z rated PF's.

Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian

Was there any news about the classic AP 4 pot rears for 180 hubs or is there any way to make classic AP 4 pot rears for 160 hubs fit R180.

HI
No , you can do it the other way around , 180 to a 160 swap with thicker handbrake shoes , but you cannot go from a smaller 160 handbrake to a larger 180 handbrake
Cheers Ian

Is this a straight swap for the classic 4 pots, and what is the usual RRP for this kit?

Hi Ian, so that would be £1265 all in to include UK lowland delivery and you get free braided hose kit and dot 5.1 thrown in on the deal, I'm seriously wanting to pull the trigger here!

Just a quick question Ian if you know that is, I have the Porchse calliper and 356mm AP disc set up that PowerStation sold fitted to my fronts, are the callipers interchangeable using the same bracket do you know, Reason I ask is I have AP rear 4 pots and was wanting a matching set of 6 pots for the front...it's not going time as simple as just getting the 6 pot calliper and swapping it for the Porsche one or is it or am I going to need brackets and different bells too?
