Blyton Park - Javelin Track Day 25 March 2012
Just popped across to Blyton Park to see what it is like now they have a tarmac track.
Got to say the new tarmac track is completely unrecognisable from the broken dirty concrete of old, very smooth, very grippy & clean, well it was only a lovely sunny spring day.
As far cars out on track; mainly FWD French cars, but also
911 Carrera
Aston Martin
Atom
Caterham
Escort Cosworth
Evo, a road car & a fully prep'd rally car
Fiesta
GT-R
Jaguar
MR2
MX5
Radical
RX8
VX220
Westfield
Sadly not a single Subaru
Notable cars;
a quick Renault Cleo Williams II
a well sorted Citroen Saxon
a very rapid red Lotus Elise
The event looked well organised (Javelin) with drivers obeying track etiquette, one guy, who maybe was a first timer was not indicating, or pulling out of way to let other cars pass, was spoken to by one of the event organisers.
I was at the venue for about an hour, during that time it only got really busy on track for a few minutes, with groups of five or so cars bunched up, other times, only two or three cars on the entire track, most of the time cars where well spaced on the track.
Overall it looked promising, certainly different to Blyton of old.
Of course I forgot to take the camera, next time.
