Think I'd like to do this as I know I've still got plenty to learn. Is there anywhere close and cheap to stay for the night? Either that or it'll be a very early start for me.
I'm currently considering some form of driver training to better understand how my Spec D reacts at the limit - specifically the auto/manual settings of the DCCD and ideally in the dry and wet.
This sounds a good starting point and would like to put my name down please.
PS Rotational Steering??

More questions - is the skid control on a skid pan/circle or just the result of "dodgy" fast cornering?
I can see tyre marks in a figure of 8 on Google Earth so maybe this is it. Is it sprinklered?
Do you think this course would be suitable for someone having recently passed their test? Not so much for performance driving but to understand and experience basic car control at the limit for safety.

What sort of punishment does your car take?
Will i rub out a set of tyres or not?
Apologies in advance for the probably really stupid questions

Dave, I have done a few days with Andy Walsh, usually 3 or 4 cars, and yes your tyres will tale a bit of a beating, though does depend a bit on how hard you are prepared to push
Here are my tyres after the last day at North Weald

Event is fully booked, next event will take place in Jan.
Exercises are run on airfield surface and yes if you drive like a hooligan tyres will scrub, drive smoothly and fast tyre wear is nothing to loose sleep about.
obviously wear will vary according to conditions on the day, what over you will find the limits of the car at some point Im sure.
Rotational steering is all about:-
Correct hand and arm positioning, helps with later exercises (avoid flailing arms)
Dialling out understeer, or steering into the slide.
Would recommend you run road tyres on these events, a. you are less likely to pick up grit b. the car will loose grip earlier and you feel the tyres working.
Have a good weekend

Posted the same on SIDC:
just got back.
first time i ever did anything like this, and had a fantastic time.
Very well organized, and everyone there was really friendly; good to meet you all.
Hope Peter's Evo isnt in too bad shape, and that damage was limited to the clutch.
