The SIDC will promote a Navigational Scatter Rally on Sunday 4th November 2001. This will be held under the General Regulations of the Motor Sports Association (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA). A waiver of Permit has been applied for.

The event is open to all fully elected members of the SIDC (Subaru Impreza Drivers Club)

The event will cover Worcestershire and the Welsh borders. Final details and full regulations will be published here shortly.

We would like to stress that this is not an off road event and will be conducted on the public highway on as many ‘interesting’ A and B roads as possible.

There will be no entry fee for this event.

We have got blanket insurance cover for the day from the MSA’s insurance brokers Bradstock, at a cost of £8.50 per car. This will only be required if your current insurance does not cover you – please check!!

There must be at least 2 people per vehicle up to the maximum allowed by that type of vehicle (4 for the Impreza)

For those not familiar with rally navigation, we have produced a Scatter Rally Primer, and a full navigational course. This can be studied at home or you may wish to attend one of the courses being held over the next few months. This will include lots of theory and then a mini navigation exercise on the road. Details will be posted shortly.

If anyone wishes any further information or questions then please email Mark Coleman on mark_coleman@btinternet.com with the words ‘Scatter Rally’ in the subject box

It will be a good fun day out – hope to see you there

Would love to have a go Mark, but as I'm not signed up to SIDC (for a very good reason) I guess I can't play.

Cheers

Mark Coleman,

Sideways and myself are interested, I am a newbie SIDC member Sideways isn't. Looks good though. Haven't got my SIDC number but haven't got a drama with that.

IWatkins,

What's the drama with joining the SIDC, I resisted but eventually cracked. Reason being not allowed on Track days, and spare wheels collecting dust ready to go.

Cheers to you, Phill C (with his thorn goggles on).

Sorry about that one Ian

Being affiliated with the MSA, there are strict rules and event insurance will only cover memebers

Cool

I would presume that SatNav devices are frowned upon?

SAT NAV - doesn't say anything in the rule book on that one!!! If they can cope with 8 figure grid references ??

Anybody who's interested then email me on mark_coleman@btinternet.com with 'scatter' in subject and I will add you to the mailing list.

Bit of delay on publisjhing regs, but should be out in next day or so

Hi Everybody

Where's the enthusiasm then?? Not getting a very big response for this event!!

The navigation is going to be very basic, and not as complicated as the course I have sent everybody. It will be a great day out for upto 4 people per car and the route will cover some classic Welsh roads for excitement.

So come on you lot, lets have some more entries. Help will be available on the day for anyone having trouble with their map references.

Hope to see you there

Mark Coleman

Surely not! My co-drivers won't be and I'm sure that nor will anyone else's, unless we have a two-Impreza family like the T-S'es or something.

I'm definitely on for this - Mark, you should have my application form on your fax machine...

Looking forward to it Come on everyone else!!

Cheers

Cool

Come on guy's an gal's, I know that Mr Coleman has put alot of work in to make this event happen, and it is a bit of a land mark event as it is the first SIDC recognised motor event.
He needs a good turn out, to get the whole MSA ball rolling, it's very easy and if you don't have a fun day, I will personal buy you a pint afterwards.
