Does anyone have any info on any airfield days coming up in the next month or so?
Preferably near Kent, but can travel otherwise.

Did a search, and found a link to www.motorsports-events.co.uk, but cant get any further into the site from the front page.

Alternatively, a track with decent run off etc, so if you did get it wrong, you'd have a good chance of still having most of your car left intact. Brands?

I think the nearest one south that motorsport-events.co.uk do is Bassingbourn airfield in Hertfordshire.

I did it a couple of weeks ago and I think there's another one in about 2/3 weeks time. I enjoyed it, would say it's not as good as Elvington (maybe a bit to far north for you ) but it was a good day and as you say if you do over-run there's no armco or tyres to hit

Is there anything worth doing near Kent at all? nothing massively expensive if poss, but dont seem able to find anything locally, and Bruntingthorpe does mean a few hours travelling each way.

Yeah, brands would be good, and even found a day to do it, but my mates are a little hesitant to fork out over £250 for the day, plus the inevitable tyres and brakes, and an airfield is a little more fun as you can go a bit madder without too much risk, so whats the security like round Gatwick these days?
