SIDC National Day, Scotland
The Subaru Impreza Drivers Club (www.sidc.co.uk) are holding their Scottish National Day at the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford (http://www.gtm.org.uk/), on Sunday June 20th (yes I know it's fathers day!). Alford is located about 20 miles west of Aberdeen, on the A944. The Transport Museum is easy to find, taking a right turn in the centre of the village.
It will be a great day out for the family, with a FREE bouncy castle/slide and face painting for the kids as well as the usual show and shine competitions (very nice trophies on offer), trader stands, sprint track in use etc. for the adults.
Best of all, entry to the event will be completely FREE of charge, and as well as a fantastic selection of Imprezas on display, we'll also have great cars from other car clubs as well.
You can also camp out on site on the Saturday evening, again free of charge , though you do have to be there by 5pm, as the main gates are locked at this point. We already have quite a few people confirmed for the camping, who are planning a BBQ, and dare I say a few cold bevereages as well
We'll be operating the sprint track during the day, and there will be a small charge of only £5 for as many runs as you can fit in during the day (although the timing gear will be working, it's not a competitive event - for fun only ). Places will be limited, and allocated on a first come, first served basis on the day, which starts at 9am, and goes onto 4pm.
We've got a top quality food van coming along (no cheap and nasty burgers for us!), which will also be selling ice-cream. He food van is also licenced, and will be selling chilled beers during the day as well (for those not driving obviously).
So far we've got cars coming from all over Scotland (the furthest travelled ones camping out overnight), and we're hoping that a group from the north of England will also be joining them
It's going to be a fantastic day out, and one not to be missed.
John
PS The scenery and roads to get to Alford are also fantastic (if you go over the Cairn O'Mount road), making the journey worth it for that alone
