You may have seen my last post "Southern Track day"

Looking at organising and running private "Spring" and "Autumn" blasts again next year based on the success of the mixed car events over the last two years. Thinking of Goodwood and Castle Combe in no particular order.

Castle combe noise level is 100db at 4500 revs
Goodwood noise level is 98db at 3/4 throttle (it is possible to book a 105db day but only 5 cars can run at any one time).

Let me know if your interested. Have also posted on SIDC forum
Southern and Track events

Had to laugh "insurer what will your maximum speed" on track
at Goodwood. Didnt have the heart to ask if I get a discount if I stick below 70mph.

Up to 32 potentials so it could be a 40 car day with a very minimum of two hours on track

Have booked 1st Lotus on Wield airfield on the SIDC arranged day 27 Jan for some driver training if any one is interested £120 for a days beasting learning/improving driving technique.

Just come back from a Goldtrack day at Goodwood.

This is a totally amazing track ,soooooooo fast but very very little run of area.

Track was wet and bloody slippery so demanded alot of respect.
Can't wait to give it a go again in the dry.

Grant

Damnit that's the kind of track I hate! I like testing the tyres more than the engine bearings & tacho...

Stormy,
Got to 125 then stated to brake just at the beige concrete on the left. Not sure that the brakes would have coped if had carried more speed through and braked any later.

Not sure of the name of the corner but it's the one after No Name is a seriously fast right and taken at 110mph not sure if my bottle or tyres on a wet day would have held out for more.

Makes Brands Indy seem like a go-cart track by comparison

Excellant mine was 135 in the dry but must admit did brake a little earlier. I love goodwood in that you have a good mix of corners and straights which if you get the lines spot on make
such a different to the corners only bit I dont like is the exit from the chicane in the damp that kerb isnt long enough.

Diesel its a good mix so dont get put off clearly on the long
back straight the 911s are gone with some reading 155 before braking.

Last time I went to compare cars A sprint prepared Cossie was matching the quicker cars purely on cornering.

Now have 37 potentials so it going to be a good day. Have reserved CC as a back up as organisers at Goodwood now have to provide liability insurance and Im waiting for the final quote.
