Who's going to Brighton speed trials or knows anything about it?

Hi All
I was going to Beaulieu at the weekend to be nosey at the auto jumble and probably collect more crap for my collection But a colleague reminded me this morning that the speed trials are on in Brighton this weekend. Has anyone been before? Is it worth going? Where can I find out about it please?
Thanks
Paul

It's an interesting day out. Basically a sprint along the prom with cars running one at a time against the clock, rather than against each other a la drag racing.
The variety of vehicles will be huge.

Loads of cars getting into the low 10s today.
Okay they were 1970 race cars but hey who cares.
It was awash with Cobras,gt40,f40,f50 Murchilago etc etc.
Car and biker heaven.

I always go, it's worth it just to see the different vehicles. As douglasb says, it's basically a huge sprint along Madeira Drive and the turn out is huge.
My friend is entering this year in his R42 and another friend will be there with his TurboTechnics twin turbo 4x4 Sierra. There are bikes as well as cars and this year the Gartrac Puma will be there trying to break the record which will be something to see.
If you are a true petrolhead you will enjoy this one. It's fab. If you are a biker you would also enjoy Sunday where the seafront is transformed for the Ace Cafe Reunion.
Speed Trials is on the Saturday only and practice starts at 9am with racing from 11am. If I remember correctly, if you want to wander around the lower area it will cost you a tenner, otherwise it's free but viewing along the sprint stretch is limited (becuase so many people attend) and there's no viewing from the beach.
Hope that helps It's a busy week-end cos I'll be going to both. Scoob on the Saturday, R1 on the Sunday .... ah bliss
