Anyone going to Donington Park for this Sundays (9th Feb) track day?

My first proper track day in the car (apart from the Nurburgring last year), can't wait!!!

Think I might put an appearance in

I'm not up for an early start tho, might see you all around lunch, I'll be the nutter in a big coat, wooley hat and gloves waving a camera about, generally not looking like I know what I'm doing

What an awesome day! Despite my grassy moment at the old hairpin! Sorry I didn't get to speak to most of you.

Glad the weather dried up after a few sessions.

Best start saving for some new rubber!!!

Talking

have to agree a great days action yet again, just not looking forward to paying up to 250 quid later in the year for track days at donny!!!!

Also felt sorry for the guy in the yellow evo 7, from where i was standing i thought he had missed the wall and was going to enter the pit lane sideways........

Unhappy

I didn't see where the Evo went off. But I guessed he'd hit a tyre wall somewhere. It was the pit wall was it? Lets hope he had insurance.

That pit wall claimed a few victims then, as it got the 106 also.

Had a top day

I think I've got some great shots of Mellow going sideways round Redgate and an MX 5 spinning there too

How many cars do you get on track at once? One of the marshalls told me it was split into sessions because 70 cars were booked in yet my boss claims, when he was there that in the briefing they said it would be sessioned if more than 60 cars were on trak at any one time 60 cars on track sounds like a chuffin lot to me... I don't think I've ever seen more than about 30. Can anyone clear this up?

Cheers

Question

Did anyone get footage of my spin at the Old hairpin mid afternoon (X plate Blue UK spec Impreza)?

The battery in my in-car video ran out about 30 seconds into that session so I missed it!

Was there and was mostly a good day.

Amazed at some drivers lack of perception or useage of mirrors, pulling into paths of faster cars, not getting out of the way of faster cars. some of the stds were pretty poor to be honest.

Not a lot was faster than Mellow - Mikes mad orange V8 westie was going well and so was Martins Mi16 Pug 205.

Think briefings need to emphasise awareness of surroundings, even more so on a crowded day like yesterday.

Yeah was a good day and thanks Chris for taking me out - made up slightly for me not being able to get on track. Have made sure for next time though - have already booked for the 1st and 9th March. RWD is certainly much more fun isnt it?

I went to watch and had a good day. Lots of good cars there and a gaggle of nice M3's in the paddock.
Also a very sad looking bent yellow EVO...
