Driven a couple of miles, it feels a lot tighter but seems to sit the same, but when I put the new and old springs next to eachother you could see the massive difference in length

Still no change in height, could there be anything stopping it dropping like bump stops or anything else ?

I've recently had Apex put on my blobeye and they dropped the ride height a nice amount. I can't fit my shoe in the gap now!

Sorry - no idea why yours hasn't done the same though...

Maybe you could see how many mates you can fit in it and see if that lowers it!

I don't think I've ever needed a quick drive round the estate to "settle" suspension.

Do you know the origins of your shocks? I suspect you have newage shocks which are slightly longer and hence you are getting the increased ride height

And still doesnt answer the question about the shocks. If they are newage then they have a longer shock body and will give you the increased ride height you are seeing

Look at the height of it in the first pic. You can fit newage shocks in a classic.

I know that new-age shocks will fit a classic and yes they are longer in the body so would raise his car up but why would he do that?SJ.

That's strange as I have had the same setup for about 5+ years and I can see a difference..

The back sits loads lower, even on standard springs, the car was used for off roading and I bought it with the ride height that high, how can I tell if they are new age as it looks as though they have been changed, mine have an adjustable camber bolt each side and it looks set to extreme positive camber compared to the back

Sorry mate I misread it, I thought you said springs.

Stonejedi: the springs were imported from Germany

If you are lucky you might find a part number on the shock body but depends how much road crud and salt has corroded them.

Std they come with camber adjustment bolt on front

alternativily pickup a set of secondhand classic front shocks and trial fit/compare
